PROGRAM DIRECTOR
The Programming Director is the heart of the radio station. The PD controls the sound of the station and the station’s clock and scheduling logs. The main programming aspects of WVOE are focus on music, information, and on-air personalities. The Programming Director oversees the radio staff and the individual shows and makes sure they adhere to the format and follow the guidelines of the station. The target audience of the station is primarily students 18-24.
The main responsibility of the Program Director is to plan, direct and monitor all the programming of WVOE. The Program Director is directly responsible for all the content that goes out over the air. It is part of his or her job to be sure that all DJs are covering their shifts, and that they are doing quality work. The Programming Director should monitor the shows and help the DJs to improve their show which will in turn make the entire station sound better.
The Program director reports to the General Manager and the Faculty Advisor. The PD works 10 hours per week and serves for at least one academic year. Working under the Program Director are the Production Director and the Music Director, as well as all the On-Air staff. |
